The clouds were setting in.
I could feel the cold taking my breath like the night taking the days.
The Summer festivities have long been forgoten and
this city can be so harsh in November.
Even the castle that towers us,
just seems to cast shadows on our streets.
I am quitened by a sudden lack of options
and the extra layer. That is my scarf wrapt tight.
Walking aimlessly, I am impressed by how one
should jog in this weather.
On entering my flat,
I do not remove my coat.
I fill the kettle and sympathise with the walkers,
still out in the cold.
I take a deserving sip
and dream of Decembers warmth.
