Bathgate chance came and was blown
Long before I was born.
Big business was our Jesus Christ
But local traders nailed it to the cross and
Handed over the Crown of Thorns.

Now we have a Subway sandwich shop
and can order pizza from Dominos.
Everyone was excited when big city names
Opened in Bathgate,
Even if they were ones we never chose.

The Bennie Museum is a last ditch attempt
To encourage local pride.
But what chance does Mr Miller have
When no one ever
Steps inside.
