The Scotia Bar is proud to announce its latest literary event, a short story competition. There is no theme – you are free to write on any subject you choose – but the length should be no more than 2000 words and you must be able to perform it in fifteen minutes. Those who go over the allotted time will be penalised.
First prize will be £150, second, £100 and third £50, but perhaps a more exciting prize is the opportunity to have their work published in a book which will be on sale in the Scotia after the competition.
The first heat will take place on Wednesday, 23rd February at the Scotia Bar in Stockwell Street, Glasgow. It will start at 8pm, which is also the new starting time for our regular Writers’ group meetings on the second Monday of every month.
February’s meeting will be on Monday, 14th February, so all those romantics among you come along with your love songs and stories so we can celebrate Valentine’s Day in style.
