Midas

She wanted for more. Friends, family,

career were not enough. She

wanted for all. She wished to have

The power to turn all she touched

to gold. Her wish was granted. She began

to turn her walls, floors, ceilings to

Gold. She wanted all to see how

many riches she had. They saw

her honey coloured house. Harsh, hard.

Gold was all that concerned her. She

never thought she would grow tired

of her gift. She was absorbed by

This yellow life. It blazed like

the fiery sun. burning, scorching. The

consumer became the consumed.

Her family and friends left her. And

her career was lost. But as

her eyes shone with gold, she was blind.
